Leeds United ‘man down’ v QPR as Manor Solomon slammed live on BBC
Manor Solomon made no impact for Leeds United in their victory over QPR on Saturday, according to Leigh Bromby.
Starting on the left side of the attack, the 25-year-old had an ineffective 72 minutes on the pitch before being replaced by Dan James as the Whites beat Marti Cifuentes’s side 2-0 at Elland Road in the Championship on 9 November.
Bromby expressed sympathy towards Solomon as the Tottenham loanee works his way towards full fitness, but said Leeds seemed to be playing with 10 men when he was on the pitch.
“When you watch [Crysencio] Summerville and [Wilfried] Gnonto, they didn’t use to track back and the biggest cheer you get here is Dan James – comes on, he sprints back, he wins his tackles, but he also goes forward”, Bromby said on BBC Radio Leeds after the game (9 November).
“I appreciate that as well that Leeds fans will want to see… if he isn’t performing and attacking the minimum he has got to do for this crowd is spring back and try and win the ball.
“I said it before, it doesn’t look like he can attack or defend at the minute. They played with one man down it looked.
“I’m trying not to be too critical of him because you have to understand the history he has come in with, he has come with that injury and everybody knows that.”
Manor Solomon woes continue after Leeds United v QPR
Solomon joined Leeds United on loan in an attempt to return to his best after missing most of last season due to a meniscus injury.
While it is understandable the attacker will take some time to hit the levels he was at, his performances for the Whites have left much to be desired.
Solomon has not contributed to a goal since providing an assist in Leeds’ 2-0 win against Hull City on 31 August. The game against QPR was his seventh appearance and fourth start for the club.
Daniel Farke perhaps started the Tottenham loanee against QPR, a side battling relegation, to get some minutes under his belt and regain confidence.

There is no doubt that James remains ahead of Solomon in the pecking order, with currently injured Largie Ramazani also ahead of him.
Solomon, therefore, needs to improve his performances if he wants to earn a place in Farke’s starting lineup.
In other Leeds United news, this English defender playing abroad has emerged as a transfer target for the Whites ahead of January.
