Leeds United man Dan James predicted to thrive by Rio Ferdinand
Daniel James has been predicted to thrive for Leeds United this season by BT pundit Rio Ferdinand.
The Manchester United legend believes that the 23-year-old wasn’t up to the Red Devils’ standard, but he thinks he will be more than good enough to play for the Whites.
James spent two seasons at Old Trafford in which he made 74 appearances and scored nine goals and provided nine assists before the Whites finally signed him.
As quoted by Football 365, Ferdinand said: “They’ve been on him for ages; they’ve wanted this boy for time.
“Listen, Dan James, I don’t think he’s Man United standard, but he’s definitely Premier League standard and the way Leeds play, he’s going to be a problem for a few teams.
“The kid in that team will be getting the ball and getting forward [quickly], and that suits his game. When you have to break down two banks of four like Man United, that doesn’t suit James’ game; he likes space. But yeah, Leeds United for Dan James will be a fantastic move for both parties.”
Excited to see James?
It has been well documented just how close Dan James came to joining the Whites in the past, so the fact they finally have their man is fantastic to see.
The Welsh winger is quick and direct, and you would think he should thrive under Marcelo Bielsa’s guidance.
Certainly, Ferdinand sounds positive about the 23-year-old, and we are excited to see what he can do for the Whites; and we hope that we see him feature against Liverpool.
He has been described as “outstanding” by Rob Page, and it was definitely a deal that made sense for all parties [WalesOnline].
Now, it is up to James to prove what he can do, and he should be in the ideal environment to prosper.
