Leeds United man Adam Forshaw impresses Marcelo Bielsa
On Tuesday night, Leeds United man Adam Forshaw impressed Marcelo Bielsa on his long-awaited return from injury against Crewe.
Forshaw has gone through hell and back, but after 697 days, the 29-year-old finally made another first-team appearance for the Whites, and he impressed his manager as the Whites sealed progress to the next round of the Carabao Cup.
Leeds don’t have that many options in the centre of the park, so if Forshaw can stay fully fit, he could become a useful player for the Whites this season [LeedsLive].
Bielsa said: “Forshaw is very well prepared.
“He sacrificed a lot in these last two months.
“Progressively, if he keeps healthy and he acquires the competition rhythm, he has all the virtues to be a player that can shine.”
Can Forshaw stay fit?
After being out for so long, there will no doubt be concerns over the midfielder, but hopefully, he is over the worst of his injury woe.
Bielsa clearly rates Forshaw very highly, and if he can keep gaining match fitness, it would be a surprise if he wasn’t involved in the first team more going forward.
It was pretty much a perfect evening for the Whites as they cruised through and managed to get minutes into the legs of Forshaw and Diego Llorente.
Forshaw has had an absolutely torrid time of it, but if he can stay injury-free, he could play an important role in Leeds’ season.
We hope that the 29-year-old makes it through this campaign injury free as he doesn’t deserve any more bad luck with injuries.
