Leeds United make transfer decision as Lyon and Borussia Dortmund eye Georginio Rutter
Leeds United have made their final decision on Georginio Rutter amid interest from Lyon and Borussia Dortmund, according to Saber Desfarges.
The Telefoot journalist reported on Thursday (31 August) that the Whites will not sell the Frenchman under any circumstances ahead of the deadline.
The 21-year-old moved to Elland Road in January for a record fee and had a disappointing second half of the season.
Desfarges wrote on Twitter, “It has not progressed for Rutter in Lyon: Leeds have closed the door and wish to keep Rutter at all costs despite the interest of OL or Dortmund for that matter.”
Good move
Rutter struggled in his first season in the Premier League and that’s not an indicator of him being a bad player.
He was roped in as the club record signing and had big shoes to fill right from his debut.
He was thrown into a dysfunctional side with no clear system and the manager who signed him was shown the door a few days later.

Both Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce did not get the best out of him and most of the players at Elland Road so it cannot be all on the Frenchman’s shoulders.
With Joel Piroe signed, the goal-scoring burden will not be on him this season and he can play his natural game and contribute however he can.
Hopefully, the Leeds fans can see the attacker the club paid over £35million for justifying his outlay in the coming months.
In other Leeds United news, agents and personal terms update has emerged as the Whites have agreed a fee for another new signing.
