Leeds United have reportedly made initial contact with the agents of Arthur Melo in a bid to lure him away from the clutches of Juventus.

According to Spanish media outlet El Gol Digital, Arhur’s agents are pushing for their client to make a move to England and the player is keen on playing in the Premier League.

The Whites have made an offer to his agency, along with Arsenal and Newcastle and the 25-year-old wants to leave Turin.

Dream move

It felt surreal when Leeds came close to signing Rodrigo de Paul last summer and it would be a similar feeling if they manage to lure Arthur.

The Brazilian, who has been labelled “sensational“, has played for elite clubs like Barcelona and Juventus and has put in exceptional performances for both.

His experience of playing in the Champions League with and against world class players will certainly have made him a more polished custodian.

Whether or not the Premier League will be an ideal fit for his playing style remains to be seen.

He’s used to playing in more technical leagues where the tempo of matches are slower.

On average, the English top flight games are fast-paced, and especially Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds, who play at a different level altogether.

It remains to be seen whether this actually materialises into an official bid or it’s purely media speculation.
