Leeds United make move to secure January transfer of Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic

Leeds United have reportedly made contact with the agency of Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic over a potential January transfer.

According to Media Foot [12 December], the Whites appear to have made a move for the keeper who’s currently plying his trade at Dinamo Zagreb.

It’s understood that Zagreb will allow him to leave if a bid in the region of £8.6million arrives in the January transfer window.

Major move

Leeds surely will not be signing Livakovic to serve as a backup keeper and that brings up questions about Illan Meslier’s future at the club.

The Frenchman has gone from strength to strength in the past two seasons and is already on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

He’s arguably the most valuable asset at Leeds at the moment and if they’ve already touched base with the agent of another goalkeeper, Meslier could be looking to leave the club.

Livakovic is undoubtedly a top-drawer keeper who’s performed miraculously for the Baltic country at the World Cup in Qatar and is making headlines for his “incredible” saves.

He’s one of the main reasons why they’re in the semi-finals as they now have the chance to make it to back to back finals.

If they go on to win the whole thing, we’ll be surprised if he’s not handed the Golden Ball for being the best player as a very good argument can be made about him.

In other Leeds United, 36 scouts recently showed up to watch multiple Leeds sensations with as many as four exits on the cards in the January transfer window.
