Leeds United ‘make Manor Solomon squad decision’ v Norwich City

Manor Solomon is unlikely to be part of the Leeds United squad to face Norwich City, according to Leeds Live.

However, the online news outlet reported [22 January] that fellow fitness doubt Brenden Aaronson could make the squad for the encounter with Norwich at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke confirmed both Aaronson and Solomon were doubts for the game, but the former appears to have won his fitness battle.

Leeds United need a win against Norwich

If Solomon is to miss the clash, it would be a huge blow for the Whites with the forward having been one of the standout players in the last few weeks.

With both Sunderland and Sheffield United securing wins on Tuesday (21 January), the pressure is on the Whites to replicate that result or else lose some of the ground in the promotion race.

As things stand, Farke’s side occupy second spot in the league, two points behind the Blades and just two points above Sunderland.

With an encounter against Burnley coming up, it is vital that the Whites put themselves in the strongest position possible heading into that game and it starts with a win against the Canaries.

Of course, that will be easier said than done although Leeds will be boosted by the absence of Borja Sainz in the Norwich squad after the Spaniard was suspended for spitting at an opponent against the Black Cats.

A win will take Leeds back to the summit of the Championship heading into the six-pointer against the Clarets, while a defeat could mathematically see them drop into third depending on the result Burnley can achieve when they face Plymouth.
