Leeds make contact with Josh Feeney with Premier League clubs in hunt

Leeds United want to sign Fleetwood sensation Josh Feeney in the upcoming summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper have reported on their website that the Whites have made contact with the 16-year-old ahead of a potential move.

Aston Villa, Leicester, Wolves and Celtic have all been credited with an interest as the race heats up for his signature.

The defender is currently managed by Simon Grayson at Fleetwood, and has been integrated into the first-team squad.

Feeney is yet to make his full debut for the club, despite being on the bench in the last three matchdays in League One.

Having only just turned 16-years-old, the defender would have become the sixth-youngest EFL debutant if he came off the bench in the past three weeks.

That wasn’t to be the case, but given his quick rise and the interest from these Premier League clubs, Feeney is clearly a big talent.

Big talents.

Feeney would join a whole host of talented central defenders in our academy at Thorp Arch should he make the move to West Yorkshire.

Scotland and England have been fighting over his allegiance on the international stage this year, and he would join the likes of Charlie Cresswell at the highest level.

Add Nohan Kenneh to that list and the Whites could have three rising defensive internationals coming through the ranks should Feeney join.

The 16-year-old has his exams to finish in the coming weeks, and will miss the remainder of the season; there is a big decision to be made after that.
