Leeds United lurk as PSG manager and advisor clash over Arnaud Kalimuendo
Leeds United are having to wait in their pursuit of Arnaud Kalimuendo as Paris Saint-Germain remain undecided on his future, according to Ben Jacobs.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed consecutive successful seasons out on loan at RC Lens in France and Christopher Galtier, who has taken charge at the Parc Des Princes after Mauricio Pochettino was sacked, has been taking a look at the French youth international during pre-season.
The former OGC Nice boss likes what he sees from Kalimuendo and is keen to keep him at the club but Luis Campos, PSG’s football advisor, is open to a sale if a sufficient bid is submitted.
“Kalimuendo scored in pre-season against Uruwa Reds,” Jacobs, a CBS journalist, said via his personal Twitter account. “Leeds pushing but Galtier has been very impressed with him since arriving and sees huge potential. Campos is the one open to a sale but Galtier would prefer he stays.”
Fuel to the fire
There is already an unsettled feeling around Galtier at Paris Saint-Germain and this could be a great chance for Leeds United to pour fuel onto the fire at the reigning Ligue 1 champions by matching Campos’ asking price.
L’Equipe reported on 10 July that PSG are only asking for £21million and that Leeds had submitted a bid of £17m on 16 June [The Independent].

That would be an absolute steal in any situation for such a talented young striker and with Galtier and Campos at loggerhead over his future, the Whites could be forced to make a move sooner rather than later before the manager gets his way.
Campos may just accept the offer without consulting the Parisiens’ new boss which would allow Leeds to have a free run at signing Kalimuendo with the only potential problem being if Galtier is able to convince him to reject a move to Elland Road and get game time in Paris, and the Champions League, instead.
In other Leeds United news, if Kalimuendo does not come to LS11, this German youth international could be the answer to Jesse Marsch’s prayers.
