Leeds United loanee named worst player in entire history of club this season

Leeds United loanee Rasmus Kristensen started and played the full 90 minutes of Roma’s 2-0 defeat to Bologna and has been slammed by the Italian media for his performance.

Jose Mourinho’s side slipped to seventh in Serie A with the defeat on Sunday 17 December, with Nikola Moro’s first-half strike and an own goal from Kristensen early in the second half proving to be the difference between the two sides.

While the Leeds loanee has been a regular for Roma throughout the Serie A season, starting 15 of their 16 league matches so far this term, the Italian media have been incredibly critical of his performances with one outlet labelling him the worst player in the cub’s history.

Italian outlet Actualite Serie A slammed the 26-year-old on Twitter (17 December) writing: “Rasmus Kristensen is the worst player in the history of Roma, we absolutely must get rid of him this winter (and Spinazzola/Celik) then recruit a real starting full-back/piston to install Zalewski on the left.”

Must get rid of him

So many players left Leeds United following their relegation to the Championship that it has become almost impossible for Whites supporters to keep track of where and how their loanees are performing around the globe.

However, they won’t be particularly pleased to hear just how badly Kristensen has been received since arriving in Italy, with the Danish international’s performances being so poor that some outlets believe that he is Roma’s worst-ever signing.

His performance, other than the own goal, against Bologna, wasn’t entirely poor as the Danish international created more chances than any other Roma player and won 100 per cent of his aerial duels and made seven ball recoveries.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Roma look to cancel the 26-year-old’s loan in January as Actualite have suggested in their tweet. Leeds United have plenty of depth at right-back already and they would have a big decision to make if Kristensen returned to Elland Road midway through the season.
