Leeds United loanee Mateusz Bogusz set to undergo surgery after ACL injury
Ibiza have confirmed on their official website that Leeds United loanee Mateusz Bogusz has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and is set to go under the knife.
The Polish attacker, 20, was withdrawn during the Spanish second-division’s side league clash against Malaga at the weekend after 23 minutes.
Tests have now been carried out, with Ibiza confirming he tore the ACL in his left knee and will now undergo surgery in the coming days.
The Athletic’s Phil Hay has reacted on his personal Twitter account thus: “A damaged ACL has ended Mateusz Bogusz’s season on loan at Ibiza.
“Set to undergo surgery.”

Bogusz has not been able to force his way into Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team plans at Elland Road, but his loan spell was going well and he would have fancied his chances of impressing the Argentine.
The Leeds youngster has been involved in four goals and seven assists in 22 games across all competitions this season, but he could have played his last game for Ibiza given the nature of ACL injuries.
While nothing will be decided until after the operation, it is safe to say the Pole could be back at Elland Road for his rehabilitation.
It appears that not only those at the club have had ill luck with injuries this season.
Leeds were without eight first-teamers at the weekend, and Carlo Poveda is currently at Thorp Arch trying to work his way back to full fitness after the injury ended his Blackburn Rovers loan spell.
The attacker also had to undergo surgery, and Bogusz could soon join him to kick off his recovery processes.
Whether he has a future at Leeds remains to be seen, and he could even miss out on pre-season training if he takes time to heal.
