Leeds United loanee Marc Roca issues update on Elland Road future

Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca has issued an update on his Elland Road future in the midst of his Real Betis loan spell.

The Spaniard has revealed that it’s a delight to be at the club and failed to mention he plans on returning to Leeds in the summer.

Roca took advantage of a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave on loan post relegation.

He told Sevilla ABC on 7 November, “I am comfortable here and I have entered the locker room very well. We are performing at a good level, I am comfortable with my teammates and the fans.

“It is a delight to be here and everything else is the work of my representative and Betis.

“I’m excited and happy and from there we’ll see what happens.

“I am grateful to the coach for the trust because I play many minutes and participate. I hope there will be many more games.”

Sell him

Roca does not mention anywhere or even hint at the fact that he wants to return to Elland Road.

Maybe he thinks if Leeds are back in the Premier League, he would return but Daniel Farke is unlikely to accept him back.

It’s not that the Spaniard is a quality player either that the manager will feel is too good to lose as he struggled a great deal last season.

He played the amount he did because there weren’t too many better options and Weston McKennie proved to be a major flop.

It remains to be seen how much Leeds can recoup from his services as he’s clearly redundant at Elland Road.

Ethan Ampadu and Glen Kamara have enjoyed such a terrific start to life at Elland Road and they would be ahead of Roca in the pecking order even if he was at the club.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that big European clubs have been keeping tabs on a Whites player for a while and are still willing to sign him.
