Leeds United-linked Empoli left-back Fabiano Parisi available for £9m-£11m
Empoli left-back Fabiano Parisi was offered to Leeds United in the summer and is now reportedly available for as little as £9million.
According to Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, even though he recently signed a new deal until 2025, he will be available for a fee in the region of £9million and £11million.
Leeds did not sign a new left-back this summer despite being linked with a number of them and if Junior Firpo does not perform up to a good enough level, Victor Orta may use the January window to sign a replacement.
Parisi may be a player that the club could consider making a move for given the fact that his agent has gone on to admit that he was offered and even reached an agreement for a transfer.
Speaking to Tutto Mercato Web on 7 September, the Italian’s agent said, “Yes, the last few days of the market have been very hectic. I consider him a great team player, he can be the transfer man for January or for the summer.
“He is of the highest standard. He can aspire to important goals. We had many clubs, from Atalanta to Turin to Fiorentina, Leeds and Nice in agreement with Empoli but we decided to wait.”
For that price, Leeds would definitely contemplate bringing the 21-year-old Italian to Elland Road in the winter.
He would not only strengthen the first team in the short term, he would be a tremendous long-term solution for the Whites.
At that age, players tend to adapt easier to life in the Premier League and sharing minutes with Firpo and Pascal Struijk may help him ease into the role.
Once Stuart Dallas is back from injury, even he will compete for the left-back position and that will give Jesse Marsch plenty of options.
He certainly would want a specialist right-back and Parisi would be the ideal signing for him.
In other Leeds United news, an Elland Road-linked midfielder is now certain to leave his club in the coming weeks as a host of Premier League clubs are vying for his services.
