Leeds United-linked Ben Brereton Diaz wants to quit Blackburn as 'huge' £10m development emerges
Blackburn Rovers could be persuaded to accept a £10million bid for Leeds United target Ben Brereton Diaz in January according to 90min.
It’s understood the 23-year-old has told the hierarchy at Ewood Park that he won’t be extending his stay when his contract expires in the summer.
90min report (8 November), that Leeds, Bournemouth, Everton, West Ham, Manchester United, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Wolves are all showing an interest in the striker.
Clubs from abroad are also taking note, with a £10million bid potentially enough to see Rovers contemplate a “huge” decision in January when it comes to their star man.
Brereton Diaz would certainly provide Jesse Marsch with proven firepower to call upon. 40 goals and 13 assists in 148 games for Blackburn are some impressive numbers from the striker who looks destined to be playing Premier League football in the coming years.
It would be some coup if Leeds could pull this one off with basically half of the Premier League and most of Europe targeting the in-form attacker. He has nine goals this season in the Championship, so would be a ready-made player to come in and automatically improve Leeds’ front line.
A striker and a left-back simply have to be the priorities for Leeds after they failed to fill the two gaping holes in their squad during the summer window. After summer interest in the Blackburn striker, this is one to keep a very keen eye on heading into January.
Regardless of whether Brereton Diaz does make the cut-price move, Victor Orta simply has to land a proven goalscorer.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are set to jet out to Spain with a major decision being made behind the scenes at Elland Road.
