Leeds United-linked Arnaud Kalimuendo will only leave PSG if signing made

Leeds United may have to wait in their pursuit of Arnaud Kalimuendo until Paris Saint-Germain sign a replacement, according to RMC Sport.

The Whites are in the hunt to sign the 20-year-old who has enjoyed two good loan spells at RC Lens but the new Parisiens manager Christophe Galtier wants to keep him at the club having been impressed in pre-season.

Kalimuendo currently wants to stay in the French capital but he could be tempted to leave if a club can offer him a guaranteed starting place for the majority of games.

A permanent sale is still preferred by PSG football advisor Luis Campos but with Galtier impressed by his performances, a loan move may end up being the most likely outcome if he is to leave the Parc Des Princes at all.

His exit could also be forced if the Ligue 1 champions are able to sign a new attacker before the season begins to push the 20-year-old further down the order.

Any way

Whether a deal ends up being a loan or a permanent agreement, Jesse Marsch will be wanting Kalimuendo to be in his Leeds United squad because there are few more exciting strikers in the world right now.

Especially for someone who is only 20 years of age, the French youth international has shown a real all-around ability to his game that strikers of his age very rarely have.

After seeing Patrick Bamford spend the majority of the 2021-22 campaign on the sidelines through injury, the American manager will know that he can’t be 100 per cent sure that the England international can be relied upon and he would rather not be forced to play youngsters with limited experience.

That is why he will want Victor Orta to pull his finger out in the transfer market after a good summer so far to ensure he has the depth necessary across the pitch to take on the brutal Premier League.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have agreed terms for the sale for this defender who is set to leave Elland Road.
