Leeds United welcome new transfer to train at Thorp Arch already
Leeds United are already putting the foundations in place ahead of next season, as they push for promotion to the Premier League.
The Whites will remain top of the Championship if they can defeat Millwall on Wednesday, regardless of how well promotion rivals Sheffield United and Burnley fare on Tuesday.
Leeds are still in a favourable position to book their spot in next season’s Premier League, despite their shock defeat to Portsmouth on Sunday.
Daniel Farke’s men also dropped points when they were held to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road by play-off chasers West Brom on Saturday 1 March.

Incoming defender has already trained with Leeds
The Whites have already signed a pre-contract agreement with Nigerian youngster Leonard Ngenge, who currently plays for Ikorodu City.
Ngenge was previously unable to agree terms with the West Yorkshire giants due to age-related FIFA regulations, but an agreement is now in place with Leeds that he will join the club when he turns 18 in August.
Championship standings (Top four, 11/03/2025) | Games Played | Goal difference | Points |
1 Leeds | 36 | 49 | 76 |
2 Sheffield Utd | 36 | 24 | 76 |
3 Burnley | 36 | 39 | 74 |
4 Sunderland | 36 | 21 | 68 |
LUFC Youth have subsequently reported that the 17-year-old has already trained with the Whites at Thorp Arch.
This news will please supporters, who are now safe in the knowledge that Ngenge should encounter no problems settling in with his new club.

Leeds could be set for a busy transfer window
The pre-contract agreement between Farke’s side and Ngenge is just one example of how the Whites are already preparing for the probable eventuality of life in the Premier League next season.
Leeds are also prioritising Manor Solomon’s future at Elland Road, as the man currently on loan from Tottenham has been thoroughly impressive this season, notching seven goals and seven assists in 29 Championship outings.
The West Yorkshire outfit have also set their sights on potential return for versatile midfielder Kalvin Phillips, whose move away from the club to join Manchester City back in 2022 has not been a success.
Farke and co are also eyeing a move for ex-Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, who is currently on loan at AC Milan from fellow Italian giants Roma.
For the time being, though, Leeds must ensure that they get back to winning ways in the Championship amid a closely fought promotion battle with Sheffield United and Burnley.
