Leeds United: Leif Davis reacts as Stuart Dallas announces retirement

Ipswich star Leif Davis has sent a message to Stuart Dallas after the midfielder announced his retirement at Leeds United on 10 April.

Dallas took to his Instagram account to make the official announcement where he was swamped with replies from Leeds players past and present wishing him the best for the future.

One of these was Davis who simply left two white hearts as his comment, while the likes of Jack Clarke, Luke Ayling, Robbie Keane and Pascal Struijk had also left messages.

It has been shared that Dallas could be offered a non-playing role at the club.

Dallas’ decision to retire from football came after he suffered a fractured leg during a clash with Manchester City in 2022 and could not fully recover, as he confirmed that he has been forced to accept that the damage to his knee was irreparable.

In September of last year, it appeared Dallas had made a return to full training at Thorp Arch as he shared an image out on the pitch kicking the ball, which was also met with warm messages of support from teammates past and present.

However, the sad news comes that he has been forced to retire due to an injury. Davis’ message comes after he progressed through the academy at Elland Road, with the midfielder likely a source of inspiration for him.

With a tense battle for promotion underway in the Championship, Dallas will surely be supporting and willing his Leeds teammates to achieve promotion, replicating what he managed under Marcelo Bielsa’s guidance to write himself into Leeds folklore.

In other Leeds United news, Danny Murphy was surprised by what he saw at Elland Road.
