Leeds United lay all bases to sign Ilias Akhomach from Barcelona ahead of Arsenal
Leeds United reportedly have laid all bases as they close in on signing Barcelona attacker Ilias Akhomach ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Marca [20 April], Arsenal were also keen on signing the 19-year-old but the Whites benefited from making first contact with the Spaniard.
While an agreement is not finalised yet, it is expected to be a formality and Akhomach is set to be done the white of Leeds next season.

Good news
Akhomach has been on the club’s radar for a while and for them to sign him ahead of the Gunners is a real coup and testament to the youth system.
Thorp Arch is undoubtedly famed but the Hale End is viewed as one of the best academies in Europe and players tend to join clubs doing well.
However, Akhomach knows that he’s going to get first-team football sooner at Leeds than he will in north London so it’s a decision he’s made with his mind.

Barcelona will regret not playing him more as he’s on his way out despite their efforts to hold on to him and not give him enough game time.
Hopefully, his progress is not halted at Leeds and if all goes well, it will not be surprising to see him playing for the senior team later this year.
It all depends on who the manager is but if there’s a sensation as talented as him, one cannot keep him away for too long.
In other Leeds United news, a Whites player has a potential offer on the table and could seal his permanent Elland Road exit this summer.
