Leeds United keeper Illan Meslier may top shortlists of big European clubs
Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier could reportedly be on the top of big European clubs due to his exposure in the Premier League.
According to LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross, for a 22-year-old to receive regular first-team minutes for an English top flight side means that he will be tracked by many clubs.
It’s something that scouts would keep track of as well and that could put him close to the top of many shortlists when clubs assess the next generation of ‘elite’ goalkeepers.

Worth it
For his age, Meslier shows the kind of maturity few other keepers in Europe do currently.
He’s an impeccable shot stopper and adept with playing out from the back, making him the ideal modern-day goalkeeper.
His performances have only gotten better since he joined Leeds and the sky is the limit given how quickly he’s grown as a player.
For someone watching him play for the first time, he does not seem like a player in his early 20s.

He’s got the maturity and composure of a goalkeeper in his prime despite being years away from his best.
Much like Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips, the Frenchman is also an asset at the club and he could earn them a good share of money if any big club shows an interest in his services.
Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich may all be looking for goalkeepers in the coming years and we’ll be surprised if Meslier is not among those they consider.
