Simon Jordan slams Leeds United as Jesse Marsch Southampton news emerges

Simon Jordan slammed Leeds United claiming there will be no greater “motivation” for Jesse Marsch than to relegate the West Yorkshire club.

TalkSPORT reported on 14 February that Marsch is set to become the new manager of Southampton only a week after being sacked by Leeds United.

Jordan confessed that the American will have an added energy in his role to prove his doubters wrong after his dismissal from the Whites.

“The circumstances on this one are energising for Jesse Marsch,” said Jordan live on talkSPORT.

“There will be no greater motivation to prove his ability and going out of a side that booted him out and going and relegating that side.

“He’ll say that’s not the case because he loves Leeds United and thanks them for the wonderful opportunity but how much satisfaction would he get to put Southampton out of the relegation zone and Leeds United back into it.”

Leeds United

Weird and wonderful.

What even is the weird and wonderful Premier League at the moment? Marsch was only the Leeds United manager last week and now he’s taking over a relegation rival.

And all this before the Whites have even found and secured a replacement for the American, it’s a mental sequence of events taking place at the moment.

The Elland Road faithful know all too well that Marsch probably isn’t the guy to take the Saints out of trouble and this may even give some fans an added boost in the relegation dogfight.

Nevertheless, as Jordan stated, Marsch will undoubtedly have a fuse lit and he’ll definitely be ready to prove Leeds United wrong, regardless of his former affiliations with the club.

There really is no better or bigger motivation needed than knocking his former club who sacked him into the relegation zone.

With the Whites set to take on the Saints on the 26 February, it makes that Premier League clash just that bit juicier if Marsch is at the helm for it.

Let’s hope Leeds United aren’t proven wrong on this matter.
