Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch pays homage to the 49ers whilst on holiday

Jesse Marsch paid a cheeky bit of homage to the 49ers whilst on holiday from his Leeds United head coach duties this week.

The American tactician posted a snap of his family on his Twitter page, with a family member wearing the loud branding of the San Francisco 49ers.

Marsch declared that it was “amazing” to be in Peru with his family as he shared a photo of them on top of Machu Picchu during the World Cup break.

“Amazing to be here in Peru with almost all the family (miss you, Maddux) and see the intricacies of Machu Picchu and get a sense of the history and culture,” exclaimed Marsch on Twitter.

The clear nod to the 49ers is interesting from Marsch, he wouldn’t have uploaded a photo with one of his family members wearing their branding unless he knows something we don’t.

Job secured?

There had been questions raised over whether the 49ers would instantly oust Marsch when they fully take over the reigns at Leeds United.

Maybe the fact that Marsch’s family member wearing a 49ers top is a bit of a stretch to suggest he has fully secured his job, especially when a full takeover hasn’t happened.

Whenever the takeover does happen, whether it’s in 2023 or 2024, Marsch is definitely going to have to do a lot more than he’s doing now to convince them of his sustainability.

The jury is still well and truly out on the American and despite joyous wins over Bournemouth and Liverpool, fans would prefer to watch a more efficient outfit.

One that doesn’t leak goals and leave you wanting a defibrillator when the final whistle is blown at 90 minutes.

Investment in key areas in the January transfer window could be the icing on the cake that Marsch needs to secure his future. Until then, he will have to prove that he can guide this Leeds United team to brighter days to win over the 49ers.

In other Leeds United news, we can exclusively reveal that a takeover by the 49ers could be done within weeks.
