Leeds United: Jeff Stelling shares title verdict live on talkSPORT in Leicester City admission
The Championship title race between Leicester City, Leeds United and Ipswich Town is set to go “absolutely to the wire” this season, according to Jeff Stelling.
Daniel Farke’s side currently sit top of the Premiership table, level on points with second-placed Leicester who have a game in hand and only one point clear of Kieran McKenna’s third-placed Ipswich Town.
While Stelling admitted he was amazed that the Foxes remain favourites to lift the Championship title this season, he expects the race for promotion to the Premier League to run right down to the final weekend of the season.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday (18 March, 8:28) he said: “This could go absolutely to the wire. Just one point separating the top three, Southampton not exactly out of it either.
“If you look at Leicester’s current form, Leeds have won 12 of their last 13, Ipswich have won seven out of eight, Leicester have lost three of their last five. Whether or not Leicester are in the Premier League next season, Dewsbury-Hall will be won’t he?”
Will Leeds United beat Leicester City and Ipswich Town to win promotion to the Premier League?
Few would have expected the Championship title race to be this tight at this stage of the season, especially when Leicester appeared to be so clear at the top of the table so early on in the campaign.
But Farke has managed to transform Leeds United since arriving at Elland Road, particularly in the second half of the season where the German has made the Whites almost unbeatable particularly in front of their home crowd.

There is still a long way to go before anything in the Championship is decided, but Leeds are in an excellent position to make an immediate return to the Premier League and will be full of confidence having gone into the international break top of the league.
Hopefully, the Whites will be able to put the finishing touches on their campaign in the remaining weeks of the season, but as Stelling suggested, this race is set to go right down to the wire.
