Leeds United: Javi Gracia job now on line in new sack update

Javi Gracia’s job at Leeds United is now on the line after the shocking 4-1 loss at Bournemouth on Sunday 30 April, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper has reported in their print edition [The Verdict, pg 9] that the Spaniard avoided questions about his future after yet another disappointing result.

It is said that Gracia is now under mounting pressure at Elland Road after the dreadful run in April where points become non-existent, just like the defence.

Sami Mokbel wrote: “Leeds manager Javi Gracia avoided questions about his future after he was angrily confronted by fans during his side’s hammering at Bournemouth.

“The Spaniard is under mounting pressure at Elland Road following a dreadful run of form that has seen them slump towards relegation.”

Leeds United fans

Embarrassing.

Those who travelled down to the south coast yesterday were not happy, and rightly let their feelings be known to Gracia and the players, who have not been good enough.

Leeds are freefalling towards relegation now given the fact that they cannot defend and seem to hand goals to the opposition at will right now, with Illan Meslier once again doing just that.

The pressure is telling on the manager though, and that was clear when he changed his system after weeks of calls from the fans to do so, although that didn’t help.

Gracia cannot help shocking individual mistakes from his players, but he can effect the game quicker by making substitutions earlier and by not putting trust in those who don’t deserve it.

Given the mess in the boardroom too, it would be no surprise to see Gracia sacked with only four games to go and no replacement sorted – that is partly the reason we are in this mess in the first place.

It is not good enough.
