Italian journalist reveals update on Leeds United pursuit of Charles De Ketelaere

Italian journalist Carlo Pellegatti has revealed an update on the situation surrounding Leeds United target Charles De Ketelaere.

It was revealed on 23 November 2022 that Leeds United were back on the trail of the AC Milan playmaker after a failed move over the summer. [TEAMtalk]

Now, Pellegatti has confessed that Milan does “absolutely not” want to move the young starlet from the San Siro anytime soon.

“We don’t even talk about it. Milan absolutely does not want to move him,” said Pellegatti as quoted by radiorossonera.

“A few days ago I asked if we would go on 10 or 7 on the market and I was clearly told that we do not need a 10.

“The difficulties of recent weeks are only momentary. They do not think that he is not a player who will be able to express his qualities in the coming months. This thing was exacerbated yesterday with the oanchina with Belgium”.

Up in the air.

There is definitely concrete interest from Leeds in the 21-year-old midfielder and he certainly fits the bill for the kind of talent they’d go after.

But Pellegatti’s comments seem to suggest that Milan still thinks very highly of the youngster, despite his struggle to find form this season.

Just because Milan doesn’t want to sell may not put them completely off loaning out De Ketelaere in the summer or January and it’s an area Leeds should explore further.

The attacking midfielder is definitely the kind of man Jesse Marsch would love to have in his ranks too and the constant links suggest the American wants him badly.

Rodrigo and Crysencio Summerville can’t be counted on to score every single game for the Whites and more attacking flair is needed to bolster Marsch’s ranks.

This one is definitely worth keeping an eye on despite the Italian journalist’s comments but expect plenty more twists and turns.
