Leeds United fans will be relieved after a timeframe was given following Anton Stach being forced off against Brighton.

The midfielder has been talismanic for the Whites this season, playing an integral role in their battle for survival.

Having joined from TSG Hoffenheim last summer, Stach has adapted perfectly to life in England, with Leeds securing his signature proving to be one of the best moves of the summer across the Premier League.

However, the 27-year-old was denied a place in Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany squad ahead of the summer, despite enjoying a sensational season.

With that in mind, it is not due to injury alone, with a timeframe now given for his return.

Anton Stach injury news comes with Germany snub

Stretchered off in the 1-0 win against Brighton, Daniel Farke initially feared the worst with Stach.

Since the turn of the year, the midfielder has suffered with a string of small injuries, before his recent return to the side.

Alongside the cruel announcement of his Germany omission, a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post outlines this has nothing to do with the injury, with the layoff expected to be around two and three weeks.

Instead, national team boss Nagelsmann has looked in the direction of Leon Goretzka and Pascal Gross, who have both made the squad despite both their age, and form at club level.

While Leeds’ season concludes this weekend, it is a relief Stach will not miss any of pre-season.

Naturally, the midfielder will be incredibly disappointed after the season he has had, after previously shining in a poor Hoffenheim side prior to his Elland Road move.

However, the Whites themselves may not be too displeased.

With just one match to play, the chance is there for Stach to go off on his holidays, get rested up, and be completely ready for pre-season.

At the same time, Farke may be glad that the eyes of the world are not going to be on his star midfielder this summer, with Stach surely being discussed by clubs across the continent as a result of his excellent campaign.

After securing their spot in the division, the West Yorkshire outfit will be looking to continue shifting through the gears next term.

Whether this be a more simple mid-table finish, or even pushing as high as the European spots for Leeds, Stach will be pivotal to whatever it is that Leeds do in the coming year.

And keeping him rested and ready ahead of pre-season will only come to the benefit of the Whites, despite the natural frustrations he will be feeling ahead of the Stateside tournament.
