Leeds United injury news: Doctor issues Pascal Struijk worst-case scenario

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...

Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk could be ruled out for several weeks with a Grade 4 rupture in his groin, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the best case scenario for the defender will be a Grade 1 or 2 injury which will not keep him out that long.

The Dutch defender last played for the Whites back in December, scoring in the 2-1 loss against Preston North End.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Struijk:

Best case scenario here is a Grade 1 or 2 injury and worst case is a Grade 4 rupture.

Typically with groin injuries, surgery is only required in persistent cases of pain and discomfort for over months to years of time and/or multiple reinjuries.

A Grade 4 rupture could result in him being ruled out for several weeks.

Struijk has been a regular under Daniel Farke whenever fit this season, making 23 league appearances thus far.

He has scored three goals and defensively too has been incredible – becoming one of the Whites’ most important first-team players.
