Leeds United injury news: Charlie Crew picks up knock at Elland Road
Leeds United youngster Charlie Crew suffered a knock against Millwall in the FA Youth Cup win against Millwall on April 4, with Adam Pope watching on.
The BBC Radio commentator shared on X that the midfielder was withdrawn hobbling, only days after being on the bench for senior games against Hull and Watford.
Eventually winning 4-3 in front of over 10,000 fans at Elland Road to reach the FA Youth Cup finally, Crew confidently scored to put Leeds 2-1 midway through the first half, but couldn’t continue after being clipped in the 86th minute.
Charlie Crew to follow Archie Gray at Elland Road?
There were several recognisable names in Leeds’ line-up to take on Millwall, with summer signing Josh McDonald and Alfie Cresswell, younger brother of centre-back Charlie, joining Crew in the starting XI.
Crew’s well-taken strike to give Leeds the lead in the 32nd minute showed his growing seniority in the academy ranks, and that quality was reflected across the team, coming back from conceding twice in the second half to win 4-3 and secure passage to the final against Manchester City.

17-year-old Crew has already been capped three times by Wales’ under-21 side, and it was no surprise when Daniel Farke listed him on the team sheet for Good Friday’s clash away at Watford.
Archie Gray’s explosion this season as a mainstay of Leeds’ promotion push and one of the Championship’s best young players has been something to behold.
Could Crew be the next to make the jump before the end of the season?
In other Leeds news, Farke has addressed calls for young striker Mateo Joseph to start ahead of Patrick Bamford against Coventry this weekend.
