Leeds United injury news as Charlie Allen picks up hamstring issue, out for weeks
Another player has joined the growing injury list of Leeds United with Charlie Allen facing a number of weeks on the sidelines after damaging his hamstring, according to LUFC Youth.
Allen, who has been knocking on the door for first-team inclusion, was absent for Leeds under-21s’ 4-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion last Friday [11 August].
LUFC Youth reported on Twitter on Sunday [13 August] that Allen “has suffered a hamstring injury and will be sidelined for a number of weeks”.
Another injury blow
While Allen has yet to feature for Leeds at senior level, he has showed promise for the age-grade sides, most recently impressing at under-21 level.
The 19-year-old playmaker, who joined Leeds from Northern Irish side Linfield in August 2020, scored four goals and assisted four more in 37 Premier League 2 appearances last season.
Leeds’ relegation to the Championship would have been considered a positive by Allen in terms of his own career development, with a higher chance of being selected at senior level, but he must now wait longer for his chance.

United already have near enough an entire team of players nursing injuries, including Liam Cooper, Patrick Bamford, Mateo Joseph, Stuart Dallas, Junior Firpo, Tyler Adams, Sam Greenwood and Jack Harrison, the latter of whom is on the verge of joining Everton [Fabrizio Romano].
That, combined with question marks over the likes of Harrison, Willy Gnonto, Luis Sinisterra and Adams, means Daniel Farke is operating with one hand tied behind his back.
Only once the transfer window closes, and the injury list slowly clears up, will Farke truly be able to get to work at Leeds.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are reportedly plotting a move to sign a Premier League striker.
