Leeds United in talks with other candidates after latest Arne Slot twist in manager hunt – Sky Sports News

Leeds United are talking to other candidates about the manager’s job after Arne Slot seemed to rule himself out of the running, according to Sky Sports News.

The Whites have been in talks with several managers about replacing Jesse Marsch, who was sacked earlier this week after a string of poor results.

But after struggling to secure any of their first-choice targets and then being rejected by Feyenoord boss Slot most recently, reporter Tim Thornton shared the latest from outside Thorp Arch on Friday (10 February) live on Sky Sports News.

“Leeds are also looking elsewhere,” he said.

“Andoni Iraola the Rayo Vallecano coach is still on their radar. Again, there could be further developments on that.

“Leeds are also talking to other candidates.

“Lots of twists and turns already

“Is it the end of the matter with Arne Slot? It remains to be seen but he’s updated us this afternoon and from what he’s said it would appear that he’s staying with Feyenoord.”

Uh oh

The longer this goes on for, the more it seems as though the club may have acted on impulse when deciding to sack Marsch.

Victor Orta and co were obviously quite keen on several people to replace him, but they can’t have done their due diligence on being able to secure those names considering the fact that they are being rejected left, right and centre.

It’s beginning to get embarrassing and it begs the question that if the club had known that they couldn’t attain these targets, would they have made the decision they made?

Whoever does end up coming in will know they weren’t among the prime candidates to be the manager at Elland Road this season, and whether or not the board has full confidence in them will also be up for debate too.

But this needs to be completed as quickly as possible to give the new man a real chance of implementing his style and keeping the team away from relegation.
