Leeds United in talks to offer Stuart Dallas new role after retirement announcement
Leeds United have confirmed they are in talks with Stuart Dallas about a future role at the club after he confirmed his retirement from professional football.
The 32-year-old Northern Ireland international hasn’t played football in two years since fracturing his femur against Manchester City, but was hopeful of returning to action before the end of the season.
However, Dallas has now called time on his career after learning he has done “irreparable damage” to his knee and the club have confirmed they are in talks about offering him a new role behind the scenes.
Leeds have also confirmed that Dallas and his family will appear on the Elland Road pitch at half-time this weekend with his family to get a goodbye from fans.
Stuart Dallas – Leeds United legend
Leeds United fans have been clamouring for the return of Dallas, not just because he is a club legend but because nobody wants to see his career end this way.
He has been a pillar of quality and leadership at Elland Road since joining so many years ago, but the damage done to his leg is just too bad and unfortunately, he won’t be able to return.
For Leeds it is a killer blow because his return would absolutely have lifted the mood around Elland Road and with the race for promotion it would have been a massive boost.

But now the team in the dressing room and the fans have a new-found motivation to get the job done for Dallas, despite the fact he has been missing for so long and hasn’t been able to play a part in the campaign.
Unfortunately he can’t help out with getting the results needed, but at least the fans will get the chance to show him how much he is appreciated and how loved he is at the ground on Saturday afternoon.
