Leeds United in hunt for Liverpool midfielder James Milner on one condition
Leeds United are interested in an “emotional” Elland Road return for Liverpool midfielder James Milner, according to the Daily Mail.
The Mail claim on Tuesday 16 May that Brighton are the frontrunners for the 37-year-old’s signature, who is set to leave Anfield at the end of the 2022/23 season.
It’s understood a return to Elland Road cannot be ruled out with no decision yet made on the midfielder’s next move. Leeds will need to secure their Premier League status if they wish to stand any chance of landing Milner.

Interesting
Milner’s move to Brighton seemed fairly nailed on. The Liverpool midfielder is clearly waiting to assess his options, with Leeds’ Premier League status very much in the balance. A return to Elland Road would probably be his preference.
He would be a superb acquisition to the squad. His experience and know-how are unrivalled in the top flight. Furthermore, considering his age, he keeps himself in peak condition. Leeds need leaders and people to set an example and Milner would do exactly that.

Furthermore, he’s a Leeds lad. He probably wants to finish his career at his home town club. A move to Brighton could bring more success but he’s already achieved pretty much everything there is to accomplish in English football.
This latest report from The Mail should certainly excite Leeds fans, particularly if they can pick up two positive results between now and the end of the season.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has shared a situation involving two players which is “confounding everyone”.
