Leeds United in hot pursuit of Belgium international Zeno Debast amid £8.8m update
Leeds United are “closely” following the progression of young centre-back Zeno Debast, according to Voetbal Belgie.
The 19-year-old is also reportedly attracting interest from fellow Premier League clubs West Ham and Brighton.
Debast has made 46 appearances in all competitions this season for Anderlecht and was also named in the latest Belgium squad.

“Leeds United, West Ham United and Brighton and Hove Albion would follow Zeno Debast’s performance closely,” according to Voetbal Belgie.
“Debast forms a strong duo with Jan Vertonghen at Anderlecht and was called up for the Red Devils by the new national coach Domenico Tedesco.
“Debast is still under contract until mid-2025 and has a value of €10million (£8.8million) at Transfermarkt. The triple Red Devil has played 52 matches with Anderlecht’s first team.”

Summer battle incoming
Max Wober has certainly helped the Whites become a stronger unit at the back, but his recent injury has highlighted how weak they can become without him.
Reinforcements will be sought in all areas this summer, but defence is an area that must be looked at sooner rather than later given the club’s constant issues with conceding goals.
Debast, who’s been dubbed as Belgium’s next Vincent Kompany [Goal], has clearly impressed enough in these early stages of his promising career to be trusted by both Anderlecht and Belgium, with the youngster performing admirably in the league and indeed in Europe in the Europa Conference League.
But as is always the case when it comes to Leeds, they find themselves in a battle for the signature of a talented young player.
This time it is with West Ham and Brighton, with the latter representing a much more promising future than the Hammers or the Whites.
In other Leeds United news, one Whites player is “paramount” to the Premier League safety of the club, according to Joe Donnohue of the Yorkshire Evening Post.
