Leeds United: Image shows how lucky Kristoffer Klaesson was as BMW absolutely wrecked

Images have been released of Leeds United goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson’s car to show he was lucky to walk away unscathed from a motorway crash.

News broke out of Norway on Wednesday (17 April) that the 23-year-old keeper had been involved in a car crash [rb.no]. Luckily, he didn’t sustain any injuries.

Police questioned him due to the severity of the accident, this could lead to a prison sentence for speeding.

Now Romerikes Blad has shared images which show the state of his BMW in the aftermath of the collision.

How could Leeds United be affected by Kristoffer Klaesson’s absence?

The number one option at Leeds has been Ilian Meslier this season and he has been in excellent form. According to FotMob, he has made 41 Championship appearances and has kept 18 clean sheets, conceding just 31 goals.

This has made it difficult for other keepers to make an impact on the first team. Karl Darlow has spent time on the bench as well as Klaesson.

Between the pair of them, they have featured in four games which came as the Frenchman picked up a red card against Preston North End.

With the Norweigan now potentially being out for a sustained period, a new third-choice keeper may need to be called up.

This could see Harry Chirsty earn a place on the bench at Elland Road. He has made seven Premier League 2 appearances this campaign.

It is unlikely with just three Championship games remaining that he will feature in any minutes but experience on the bench could be useful to him.
