The 25-year-old emerged as one of the shining lights in the Championship last season under Mark Robins, registering a tremendous 21 goal involvements from 44 games, and is just the kind of midfield talent the Whites should be targeting this summer.

With Marc Roca now leaving, and the likes of Brendan Aaronson, Jack Harrison and Wilfried Gnonto on the verge of departing Elland Road, Leeds United will be desperate for his wizardry and imagination in the final third and Hamer provides that in abundance, averaging 1.6 key passes last season whilst recording 16 big chances created [SofaScore].

The former Feyenoord ace is a player who can raise the quality in Leeds’ midfield and for less than £10million, he could prove an absolute snip and a marquee acquisition for the now-confirmed full Leeds United owners 49ers Enterprises.

This is the kind of signing that could ignite the Elland Road crowd again and it’d be even more special if they can convince Hamer to stay one more year in the Championship and potentially fill his English top-flight dream next season.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are battling to sign this 11-goal forward from a relegated club.
