Leeds United 'huge financial loss' on the cards despite recent economic health - Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson has detailed the “huge financial loss” which could impact Leeds United if the Yorkshire side are relegated back to the Championship.

The Whites are currently 19th in the Premier League and face fellow strugglers Wolves in a huge fixture at Molineux on Saturday (18 March).

Robinson has suggested the club is in a far better financial state but did claim the threat of relegation could have massive implications.

“There’s a huge financial loss that comes with relegation as everybody knows and nobody knows that better than Leeds United after the last time they got relegated from the Premier League when they spent 16 years in the wilderness,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

“The financial state of the club is a lot healthier now and there are players who have come in who are top quality, McKennie for example.”

Leeds find themselves at the heart of one of the most closely contested relegation battles in Premier League history. There are nine teams firmly engulfed in the fight to beat the drop and a consistent run of form could do the trick for Javi Gracia’s side.

Saturday’s trip to the West Midlands is yet another must-win game. A trip to Arsenal follows before another crunch fixture against Nottingham Forest.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has shared a massive regret of the Elland Road faithful as the club made an official announcement a few days ago.
