Leeds United hope to ‘crack’ Club Brugge financially in order to sign Charles De Ketelaere

Leeds United are “convinced” AC Milan won’t meet Club Brugge’s asking price for Charles De Ketelaere and hope to “crack” the Belgium club financially to secure a move for the 21-year-old according to journalist Alexandre Braeckman.

RTLSport journalist Braeckman wrote via his personal Twitter Account on Wednesday (6 July) that Brugge are keeping Leeds’ £25.6million plus £6million in add-ons offer to one side if AC Milan cannot match the offer from the Yorkshire side.

Braeckman also suggested that Leeds are “convinced” that Milan won’t be able to match their bid and hope to break Club Brugge financially, in order to secure a deal for De Ketelaere.

Plenty to do

There is clearly a lot to be done to get this deal over the line for Jesse Marsch and Victor Orta, however, it is refreshing to see Leeds push hard for one of Europe’s most sought-after talents.

There are obvious questions regarding whether the 21-year-old would want to play for Leeds with European giants AC Milan clearly showing an interest.

However, if Milan cannot get a deal over the line Whites fans shouldn’t begrudge the player for not wanting Leeds as his first choice.

Milan are one of the world’s biggest clubs and can offer Champions League football.

Leeds United

However, the prospect of testing himself in the Premier League could be a draw for the 21-year-old as opposed to remaining with Club Brugge in Belgium.

Leeds are certainly pushing for this deal and showing their intent in the transfer window.

The Whites have also put themselves in a good position with the number of additions they have made so far meaning they can afford to take their time in their move for the Belgium international.

This is a transfer saga that is far from over.

In other Leeds United news, the club have now opened talks with an ‘Incredible’ title-winning central midfielder to replace Kalvin Phillips and sign him along with Tyler Adams.
