Leeds United have new manager contingency in place for Daniel Farke sack as reveal emerges
Leeds United have started the Premier League season in promising fashion under Daniel Farke, amassing four points in three matches.
Leeds’ 1-0 win over Everton paved the way for optimism at Elland Road, and despite a hammering suffered at the hands of Arsenal, Leeds’ 0-0 draw with Newcastle confirmed a decent start.
Farke has been previously unsuccessful in the Premier League, getting relegated twice whilst in charge at Norwich.
Should things turn sour at Leeds, 49ers president Paraag Marathe has a plan for Leeds to succeed if Farke needs to be relieved of his managing duties.

49ers have plan in place if Daniel Farke is sacked
Writing for The Athletic, Matt Slater has detailed Leeds’ financial situation, their growth strategy, and more after getting his hands on a recent pitch deck for further investment.
In regard to Farke, the 49ers have a contingency plan if Farke is to be sacked already.
They note that the average tenure of a Premier League manager is 18 months, and given Farke’s previous record at this level, it’s smart for the owners to plan ahead.
Farke gained valuable experience managing Borussia Dortmund’s second team before eventually moving to East Anglia, where he made a name for himself, securing two separate promotions to the Premier League.
- SV Lippstadt (2009-2015)
- Borussia Dortmund II (2015-2017)
- Norwich (2017-2021)
- Krasnodar (2022)
- Borussia Monchengladbach (2022-2023)
- Leeds (2023-now)
Leeds’ play-off final defeat to Southampton in 2024 could have spelt the end of Farke’s Leeds reign, yet the 49ers rightfully stuck by him, and won the Championship last season.
Despite the good start to the season, Leeds fans should be encouraged that there is a plan in place should Farke’s reign go south.

Archie Gray sale paved way for Elland Road developments
Leeds have also made it a priority to develop youth talents and sell them on for big fees, before reinvesting in the stadium or the training facilities.
Gray’s sale to Tottenham last year has fast-tracked plans to expand Elland Road from a capacity of 38,000 to 47,000.
After phase one is completed, phase two plans to take the ground to a capacity of 53,000, making it the seventh largest stadium in England.
Leeds have changed a lot in the last decade, and the 49ers’ role at the club seems to be constantly planning towards the future; something fans can definitely get on board with.
Whether Farke will be around to see those changes, however, remains to be seen.
