Leeds United have 'little chance' to sign Charles De Ketelaere

Leeds United are interested in signing Club Brugge’s attacker Charles De Ketelaere, but they have been put off by his £34m price tag, as reported by Sport Voetbal Magazine.

The report (24 June) suggests that the 21-year-old Belgium forward is unlikely to accept a move to Elland Road this summer, while the Whites have “little chance” to secure his signing.

Tuttomercato reported on 23 June that Leeds have emerged as a serious challenger to AC Milan as they are chasing their fourth signing of the summer.

Need to offer more?

Leeds have been very busy this summer after a disappointing 2021-22 campaign where they narrowly avoided relegation.

The Whites have signed three players – Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Marc Roca – already, and are still looking to bring in more bodies to their squad.

Jesse Marsch is looking to bolster the forward department, particularly if Raphinha departs.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move away from Elland Road, and Leeds expects him to leave at some point this summer, although where he would land up is anybody’s guess.

De Ketelaere would be a brilliant addition to the squad. The youngster enjoyed a superb 2021-22 campaign where he scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League.

He has got two years left on his current deal, and it will take a huge amount to lure him away.

The problem is regarding whether the player is excited to make a move to Yorkshire. If he doesn’t fancy a move, the Whites should look for options elsewhere.

In other Leeds United news, officials were left baffled by what a rival top flight side did this week as one transfer saga entered a new phase.
