Leeds United have held talks to sign Hwang Hee-chan after Cody Gakpo transfer twist

Leeds United retain interest and could look to sign Wolves striker Hwang Hee-chan, after they missed out on signing Cody Gakpo, as per GiveMeSport.

The website reported on 1 September that sources have told them that Leeds have held talks to sign the 26-year-old striker, but Jesse Marsch has other options lined up as well.

The Whites were in the hunt along with Southampton to sign Gakpo, but the deal didn’t materialise in the end.

One more signing?

Leeds could find themselves in a curious situation if Tottenham now make an attempt to sign Dan James.

The Whites do not want to sell him but at the same time, they won’t stand in the way if the player decides to move on. The next few hours could be very crucial.

It has been well documented that the Whites need to sign a striker this summer, but they haven’t been able to bring anyone, although they have bolstered their attacking areas.

The South Korean is a player Marsch admires, having worked with him previously at RB Salzburg.

He has scored five goals and two assists in 36 games for Wolves so far. The main problem lies in the valuation of the player.

Sky Sports reported on 26 August via their Transfer Centre on Wednesday (24 August, 08:38pm) that the South Korean is valued up to £25million by Wolves.

While talks have been held to sign the striker, it remains to be seen if Leeds come up with a formal bid today.
