Leeds given £20m ultimatum for 23y/o after enquiry with no chance of third loan move – report

Leeds United have been linked with a move for Liverpool winger Harry Wilson many times over the past couple of seasons.

The Welsh international impressed at Derby the campaign before last, and that earned him a temporary move to Bournemouth.

Despite excelling there, the Cherries were relegated and now it is Leeds’ turn to be linked with a move again before the Premier League kicks off.

The Sun has reported that the Whites are preparing a £15million bid for the winger, half of what Jurgen Klopp demanded only the season before.

Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani may be wasting their time though. Local outlet, the Liverpool Echo has claimed that Jurgen Klopp is wanting closer to £20million.

It’s simple as well, if that figure isn’t met by any club, the 23-year-old will stay at Anfield with their being “no chance” of another loan move.

Leeds have been in contact with the Reds, with Southampton and Newcastle also sharing an interest in the Merseyside talent.

Klopp is also planning for next season with Wilson as part of his squad, so either way, the German will be happy.

The Whites will need to decide quickly whether or not to act on the £20million ultimatum given by their fellow champions, and we believe they should look elsewhere.

For that sort of money, Leeds could make a move for Said Benrahma from Brentford, and the Algerian has more than proved his worth in the past year.

Wilson’s form tailed off as the season went on, and he didn’t start any of the last seven Premier League games. If he couldn’t get into that struggling Bournemouth side, there should be massive question marks over that asking price.

Time to look elsewhere, Victor.
