Leeds United: Harry Gray messages Max Dowman as Premier League record broken by Arsenal star

Max Dowman has created Premier League history for Arsenal, becoming the youngest goal scorer in the competition, and Leeds United wonder Harry Gray was watching on.

Gray, who is not too much older than the 16-year-old Dowman, is currently out on loan at Rotherham United in League One.

The 17-year-old attacker is highly rated at Elland Road, and he will be hoping to make a breakthrough next season, akin to that of Dowman at the Emirates.

Unfortunately, Gray will not be able to reach the same feat as the Arsenal youngster, of course, as he is already older than him.

For Gray to have a chance at Premier League minutes next season, Daniel Farke must continue to bring in strong results in Leeds’ remaining matches.

Harry Gray sends message to Max Dowman after goal vs Everton

Gray and Dowman would have met in the England youth camps, as the pair were both part of the under-16 setup in 2024.

Their friendship appears to have continued away from the pitch, with Gray issuing a message to Dowman through Instagram.

Dowman made history by becoming the youngest goalscorer since the birth of the Premier League as Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 on Saturday.

His inaugural goal came at just 16 years, two months and 11 days old, and the Gunners star took to social media to say it was “a night I’ll never forget.”

Leeds’ academy prospect Gray can be found in the comments section, where he simply left a GIF of a goat. Of course, referring to the common acronym for the ‘Greatest of All Time’.

The forward has been enjoying his first-team minutes away from Elland Road as well. Gray has attracted Premier League interest, and Leeds will be hoping they can entice him to stick around.

Where does James Milner now rank for his first Leeds goal?

Once upon a time, it was a Leeds player who topped the charts for the youngest ever goalscorer, with James Milner holding that crown from the end of 2002 up until 2005.

He scored for the Whites against Sunderland at just 16 years, 11 months and 22 days old.

James Vaughan would ultimately beat him by a few months, scoring against Crystal Palace in 2005 at 16 years, eight months and 27 days old.

Now, of course, with Dowman’s achievement, Milner has been subsequently knocked down to third place. However, he still remains a part of Leeds’ history by being the Peacocks’ youngest scorer.

Milner, however, now tops the list in another way. The former Leeds graduate has recently made the most appearances of any player in Premier League history.
