Leeds United handed transfer boost to sign Newcastle keeper Karl Darlow ahead of Bournemouth
Leeds United have been handed a major boost to secure the services of Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow ahead of Bournemouth, per NUFC Blog.
The news outlet covering all things Newcastle claim in an exclusive story [22 July] that the Englishman fancies a move to Leeds over the Premier League outfit.
A move to the Yorkshire outfit will keep him closer to his family in North-East – a part of the country that’s been the 32-year-old’s home for the last nine years.

Newcastle are understood to want £5million but are likely to accept a lower offer as the goalkeeper wants to leave this summer.

The fact that he fancies a Championship club over a top-flight one suggests that Leeds are still a pull over relegation candidates in the Premier League.
They may have had a bad season in 2022/23, but under a new manager and ownership, things are starting to look bright again for them.
Darlow has been linked extensively with a move to Elland Road and now the ball seems to be in Leeds’ court.

It seemed that with Bournemouth showing interest, he may be inclined to move to another Premier League club.
However, if Leeds can muster a bid and match Newcastle’s valuation, this transfer could happen very soon.
It also remains to be seen what the future holds for Illan Meslier as Darlow is unlikely to want to be a backup to the Frenchman next season.
