Leeds United handed major Adam Forshaw injury boost - Phil Hay

Phil Hay has relayed a huge injury boost for Leeds United player Adam Forshaw ahead of the clash against Newcastle.

Leeds travelled to the London Stadium for the second time in a week where they redeemed themselves for their FA Cup defeat last time out in London.

However, the Whites’ 3-2 victory was overshadowed by Forshaw being forced off the field in only the 22nd minute due to a hamstring issue.

Using his personal Twitter account, he said: “Good news for Forshaw on the Hamstring front.

“Looks to have avoided a bad one.”

It’s not ideal but the injury looked to be a lot worse. It would be very fitting of Forshaw’s Leeds United career just days after he penned a new deal, he was hit with a long-term injury.

The extent of the injury is still largely unknown but the indications online from Forshaw and Hay can only be a good thing.

The Whites’ squad is still very depleted with the whole bunch virtually made up of teenagers against West Ham, so it is a huge blow to lose yet another senior player.

Every player counts from now until the end of the season as Leeds look to make something of this campaign after such a difficult start.

Hopefully, Forshaw can speedily work to a full recovery and come back and help the team as he is such an important player for Bielsa when fit.

He must tread lightly though and be careful of any setbacks with hamstring injuries being notoriously difficult to overcome.
