Leeds United: Graham Smyth shares ‘ironic twist’ he spotted v Hull City

Graham Smyth has shared an “ironic twist” he spotted in the away end prior to the goalless draw between Hull City and Leeds United on Wednesday [20 September].

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist wrote on his personal Twitter account that a Leeds supporter was “shadow boxing to Eye of the Tiger” at the MKM Stadium.

That comes on the back of a Millwall fan giving it the big one when the sides met at The Den last weekend, with footage of the supporter bouncing up and down on the spot as he attempted to gaud the travelling fans going viral.

Smyth posted: “A Leeds United fan in the away end shadow boxing to Eye of the Tiger. An ironic twist on the gent at Millwall. Excellent.”

Bit of fun

The much-anticipated trip to The Den thankfully passed by without too much incident off the field, the rather – shall we say – excited Millwall fan aside.

Leeds supporters were quick to poke fun at the Millwall fan, and it seemed those antics continued into the match with Hull on Humberside.

On a wet and rather unpleasant night, those who made the trip across the Pennines were in need of something to keep spirits high before kick-off.

It was a quick turnaround in Championship fixtures for the Whites, especially considering both games were away from home.

However, after the trip to Hull, Leeds have just one more away game – at Southampton on 30 September – over the next month.

In other Leeds United news, a player emerged from the team coach with a nasty facial injury.
