Leeds given price for attacker from recently-relegated side after Phil Hay reveal - report

If Leeds United want to sign Emiliano Buendia from Norwich then they’re going to have to pay £25m for him.

That’s the update from The Mail on Sunday after it was revealed by Athletic journalist Phil Hay that Leeds had contacted Norwich about a deal for their attacker.

Buendia was one of a number of names mentioned by Hay, with Said Benrahama and Eberechi Eze the other two attackers that Leeds are interested in.

In a round-up in the Mail article, Leeds have also been linked with Bruges winger Emmanuel Dennis and Wigan Athletic midfielder Sean McGurk.

That comes after it was reported that Leeds have had a £1m offer accepted for Wigan striker Joe Gelhardt.

Too. Many. Names

We knew Leeds were going to be linked with a lot of players but it’s getting very hard to keep up with everything that’s going on at the moment.

Norwich might want £25m for the player they signed for £1.5m in 2018 but we don’t think they’re going to get it.

Buendia didn’t push on in the Premier League and his attacking output dropped significantly – from eight goals and 12 assists in the 18/19 Championship, to one goal and seven assists in the Premier League.

He was playing with a team who struggled to make any impact in the league but it’s still worrying.

Of the three ‘Championship’ players that have been mentioned, we’d prefer either Said Benrahama or Eberechi Eze to Buendia, although a deal for the former could depend on how Brentford get on in the play-off final on Tuesday.

We’re all Fulham for the night.
