Leeds United get potential boost ahead of Millwall clash as Gary Rowett reveals injury concerns
Leeds United have been handed a major boost ahead of their crucial Championship clash against Millwall on September 17 as manager Gary Rowett reveals injury worries to two of his key stars.
The South London outfit could be without two key players in the shape of Shaun Hutchinson and Joe Byran after the latter was left out of the Lions’ squad which drew 1-1 against Birmingham City at the weekend.
Speaking after the game, Rowett told the Southwark News (3 September) that Bryan will be touch and go ahead of the clash against Daniel Farke’s men after the international break.

He said: “He felt his groin on Tuesday, so he’s probably going to be touch and go till the back end of the international break.
Millwall’s other injury concern is captain Hutchinson, who was withdrawn after half an hour at St. Andrew’s after picking up a calf injury. Rowett said: “I think he just felt his calf which is disappointing because I think you could see the solidity with him in there.
Must win
While Rowett will be anxious over the potential injuries to two of his key stars, Leeds United will certainly need all the boosts they can get ahead of this tie after the international break.
After Saturday’s disappointing and dour 0-0 draw against a struggling Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, Farke’s men will feel they are being left behind by a few of the Championships pace-setters as they currently sit seven points off Preston North End on six points after five games so far.

Given the incredible business the Whites managed to get done in the last days of the transfer window, and the burgeoning quality Farke had at his disposal on Saturday, many expected Leeds United to run away with the victory against Wednesday, but it ended in serious disappointment.
The international break certainly gives Farke time to address the ongoing issues in his squad tactically and especially in attack after their fruitless display at the weekend.
The game against Millwall after the two-week pause will certainly provide Leeds United the chance to kickstart their season again and fulfil their early-season aims to get in amongst those at the top of the Championship tree.
Rowett’s injury concerns certainly present a welcome boost ahead of that clash in South London.
