Leeds United: Former striker spotted leading Junior Firpo fan chants at Sheffield Wednesday
Ross McCormack was spotted celebrating Leeds United’s win at Sheffield Wednesday with the travelling fans on Friday night (8 March).
In footage posted by a Whites supporter on Twitter after the game at Hillsborough the former Elland Road striker was seen signing the praises of left-back Junior Firpo on the concourse after the 2-0 win.
The defender bounced back from a difficult first-half defensively to produce a wonderful assist for Patrick Bamford’s goal seconds before half time which turned the game.
Willy Gnonto added a second inside an hour to infuriate the home supporters and delight the travelling contingent, with McCormack included.

There was plenty to come away from Sheffield satisfied with so the 37-year-old Scot and the rest of the travelling Whites support were understandably in high spirits heading into the weekend.
What looked like a major potential banana skin in the form of an away trip to an Owls side scrapping for survival and on a four-game winning streak ultimately turned into a professional three points secured.
Firpo had a rough first 45 minutes as he struggled to get back up to speed after being rested for the Stoke victory for Sam Byram after a run of nine starts.
A couple of mistakes nearly let Wednesday in, but he deserves huge credit for lifting his own game and with it the whole Leeds United evening.
The timing of his assist, arrowed through the home side’s box to the far post four minutes into stoppage time before the break, was key as it broke the deadlock and changed Danny Rohl’s team talk at the last second.
The Whites looked far more comfortable in the second half having been sent into the interval on a high, and made their advantage pay to close out the win and move back into second ahead of Ipswich’s trip to Cardiff in the early Saturday kick off.
In other Leeds United news, a permanent Elland Road transfer might be off after a medical condition sparked a slump by one international.
