Leeds United ‘for sure’ will try for deadline day deal amid transfer links with Charlie Taylor at Burnley – Alex Crook
Charlie Taylor “makes sense” as a deadline day signing for Leeds United and the club are “going to try to do something”, according to Alex Crook.
The talkSPORT journalist told GIVEMESPORT (1 September) that, having lost so many players this summer, the Whites would “for sure” be looking for late business, and he believes the Burnley left-back would be a logical move.
Both of the top two options in the Elland Road squad at the position are currently out injured in Junior Firpo and Sam Byram.

Crook said: “Charlie Taylor makes sense, I think; he’s a good Championship player and I think, obviously, just because of the sheer volume of players they’ve lost, they’re going to try and do something for sure.”
Return?
If the Whites are going to go back into the market on the final day and bring in a specialist left-back at long last then it would top off a strong set of late deals.
Doubts have been raised over their motivation to do so having missed out on Luke Thomas from Leicester City to Sheffield United.
But a lot can change in a short space of time in the final hours of the window and it would surely make fans a lot happier if Firpo and Byram weren’t expected to shoulder the load for a whole season.

The former’s struggles for form and fitness have spanned his entire time at the club since arriving from Barcelona, and while the latter has performed well so far his own injury record is extensive.
That both are out of contention for Daniel Farke already is therefore little surprise, and it would be a gamble to go ahead relying on the duo to man a position that has caused problems at Elland Road for at least a year.
Taylor’s departure from the club the first time around was somewhat controversial in that former boss Gary Monk claimed the now 29-year-old had “refused” to play before he left [Sky Sports] and faced disciplinary action, but were he to join Byram in making a return this summer it would surely be greeted far more positively.
In other Leeds United news, the chances of a key man leaving before the deadline are “pretty high” with multiple signings still the aim.
