Leeds United have firmed up their interest in a last-gasp transfer move for Wolves attacker Hwang Hee-Chan, according to the Express and Star.

The newspaper has reported on its website that a “shock” transfer could well happen before the end of this current window which ends on Thursday [01 September].

The Mirror backed up those reports on Saturday in their print edition [27 August, pg. 58, sharing that a £15million move is possible as Wolves may need to wheel and deal.

Writing in his latest column for The Mirror, Tim Nash shared the latest surrounding the deals as speculation continues to swirl this week.

“Hee-Chan Hwang is hot property on the pitch – but the Wolves forward is ice cool off it,” he wrote.

“The South Korea star is a £15million target for Leeds, and Molineux chief Bruno Lage accepts he might have to wheel and deal in the transfer market.”

Firmed up.

Leeds are said to have expressed their interest, with that suggesting that contact has been made between the two clubs to kickstart possible negotiations this week.

With a matter of days left in the window, Victor Orta will need to move quickly, and Wolves may now be tempted to cash in on a couple of options at Molineux.

Goncalo Guedes and Matheus Nunes have arrived for big money, and although Morgan Gibbs-White left to join Nottingham Forest for that ridiculous fee, they may need to recoup more cash.

That deal for Gibbs-White may include more add-ons than upfront fee, so £15million in one chunk at the end of this window could come in very handy.

Jesse Marsch would then reunite with someone he knows very well from RB Salzburg and a player who can play as a number nine, as well as in the attacking three behind the striker.

That is exactly what Leeds need, and don’t be surprised to see this one happen.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites now want to sign this striker with a rival set to kickstart a major £30million+ transfer battle
