Leeds United find new head of recruitment after latest Elland Road exit
Leeds United have promoted Alex Davies to head of recruitment after Jordan Miles’ exit, according to the Training Ground Guru.
It emerged on Saturday (9 November) that Miles is leaving his role as the club’s recruitment head despite only arriving from Aberdeen in February [TEAMtalk].
TGG then reported via its website on Saturday (9 November) that the Whites have decided to promote within instead of bringing in a replacement for the executive, moving the respected Davies up from his role as head of recruitment operations.
Leeds United undergoing major structural changes
Miles’ exit came on the back of the news that Leeds United technical director Gretar Steinsson is leaving to take up a bigger role with the club’s owners 49ers Enterprises [The Athletic].
The Elland Road outfit have no plans to hire a direct replacement for Steinsson as they prepare to promote from within and have done the same for the head of recruitment role.
It is encouraging to see Leeds reward Davies, who is well-respected behind the scenes, with this promotion as he has been with the club for 13 years.
He initially arrived in West Yorkshire as a performance analyst before being tasked to head the analysis department.

Davies moved up the ranks during Victor Orta’s time at the club and was promoted to head of recruitment operations following Miles’ arrival in February.
Meanwhile, head of football operations Adam Underwood and consultant Nick Hammond are expected to take on more prominent roles behind the scenes amid Steinsson and Miles’s exits.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have to act quickly to sign this target amid growing interest from elsewhere.
